Frequently Asked Questions

Ask us anything

How much does it cost?

We ask for playing fees each week

2 hours - £6

1 hour - £4

We also have an annual membership fee of £10 per person (due after 3 weeks)

Do you have a juniors club?

No sadly, but in some circumstances we allow 13 to 16 year olds with a playing parent / responsible adult. This is at the management committees discretion.

Can I pay by card?

You can pay by either: cash, bank transfer into our account, or by contactless payments. There is a 1.5% fee per contactless payment.

£10 = 15p,  £6 = 10p.  £4 = 6p.  £2.50 = 4p.

What is the standard like? Can I play if I am new to the sport?

We welcome players of all abilities, from complete beginners to Welsh Internationals!

We have 6 to 8 courts usually available and room for everyone to play games with players in or around their ability. However we are a social, friendly club first and foremost, which means you may play games with people of different ability. When this happens we ask players to be respectful and play thoughtfully, that means no smashing at weaker players faces or body.

What do I need to bring?

You will need comfortable clothing, sports hall appropriate non marking trainers, a drink and towel. Maybe a change of clothes for after. We have rackets you can borrow.

Do you play with feathers or plastics?

We play with feather shuttles of club standard (usually Yehlex Tournament) however we also have plastics available for players who wish to play with more ethical shuttles. If you want to learn how the feather shuttles are manufactured there are videos on YouTube.

Can I get help with my game?

The vast majority of the time is spent playing games but we do have Coach Dan, who is able to help now and again with techniques and tactics, Just ask.

Can I compete?

We try to run a couple of club competitions per year along with a Pembrokeshire competition open to all clubs and players in Pembrokeshire. In 2024 we are also hoping to host the Badminton Wales - West Wales Graded featuring some of the best players from across Wales too.
